Local historian Jennifer Goldsmith explores how to discover the history of houses. Houses move up an down the social scale,become livestock stores or are split into flats or offices. Then circumstances change again and the house is rediscovered, renovated and bursts forth anew. This course traces the history behind a number of houses and their fascinating and often idiosyncratic occupants and considers techniques which can be used to discover the history of a house.
