LIVE FROM KINGS PLACE: PLASTIKES KAREKLESENJOY TRADITIONAL GREEK MUSIC
Enjoy a very special concert at Kings Place London which took place in 2018 as part of the Equator: Women of the World festival. The musicians perform a selection of their favourite rebetika and non-rebetika Greek songs, including a more traditional set up with bouzoukis, guitars, baglama, accordion as well as original arrangements using more unusual combinations such as two cellos.
Plastikes Karekles says: "We are not so much a band, but more a company of musicians who are really close friends. We usually work in smaller groups of 3, 4 or 5 musicians, depending on who is free and what the music requires. It is very rare that we get to play in the full form of the band, but on this day we had that opportunity and it was totally thrilling. We hope you enjoy the music and the feeling of companionship that we did when we played there"
